Solar Installation to Add ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ-Specific Irradiance Data

ACEP research engineer Chris Pike recently deployed a new Campbell Scientific weather station in Interior ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ as part of the ACEP Solar Technology Program’s solar irradiance ground measurement campaign.

Most solar irradiance measurements in ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ are either modeled based on cloud observations or derived from satellite data and need ground truthing for calibration. ACEP’s long-term goal is to develop an ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ-specific solar irradiance data set that can be used to produce more accurate solar photovoltaic performance estimates.
