Going With the Flow: Ocean and River Energy Worskshop March 1
Don’t let this workshop drift by, as it is sure to make renewable energy waves in a state that has more coastline than any other and more miles of waterways than roadways.
, is the second in a series of four free virtual workshops sponsored by the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Center for Energy and Power. It serves as a primer to the to be held May 24-26, 2022, at the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage, ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ.
ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ is estimated to have 90% of U.S. tidal energy resources and 50% of U.S. wave energy and in-river energy resources. A number of small-scale test deployments and demonstration projects have been installed in ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ over the past decade, but challenges to large-scale adoption remain.
Topics that will be discussed include:
What is the current and emerging status of hydrokinetic energy technologies?
What are the key challenges for their implementation in ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ?
What are the applicable lessons learned with other variable renewables?
How do ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ use-case scenarios compare with those elsewhere?
