Dear University of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Fairbanks students,
In a spirit of gratitude after a rewarding 30-year career at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ, I have decided to
retire from my position as ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ chancellor. My last day will be July 26, 2025. In the
near term, I will retain my affiliation with ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ through my faculty position in civil
engineering.
I am thankful to you, the students, for choosing ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ. You have enriched our campuses
with your curiosity, tenacity and enthusiasm. ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ is an amazing institution because
of you.
Today, like times in the past, ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ faces challenges. But there is also a great deal
of opportunity ahead! ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ has an outstanding core of leadership, strong and growing
enrollment, state support for our run to R1, and a wide range of expertise that will
serve the state, nation, and world well into the future.Ìý
Thank you for the vibrance you bring to our community and for entrusting ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ with
your education. It is worthy of your support.Ìý
Thank you and thanks for choosing ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ!
Dan White, chancellor
