Course evaluation submission windows are dependent on the duration of the course,
and you can find the exact survey dates for all courses within your (along with a lot of other helpful information).
Instructors have the option to add personalized questions to their course evaluations until the survey opens and is sent out to students. You can find instructions for personalizing your course evaluations through Blue in this guide.
Course evaluation reports will be released two weeks after the term ends, and you will receive an email notification when the reports are ready to be viewed and downloaded. For more detailed information about reports, please review the Faculty’s Guide to Reports.
Offering incentives and student anonymity:
While instructors are not required to offer extra credit as a means to incentivize students to complete course evaluations, it is highly recommended that instructors encourage students to participate in the course evaluation process.
Offering extra credit can be a great tool to increase participation, but there are a few things to keep in mind if you would like to offer that option to your students:
-
ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ only permits class-wide incentives for course evaluations, meaning extra credit must be awarded to all students or no students in the class.
-
Example: You offer extra credit if at least 50% of the class completes the survey; if they reach that minimum, all students receive extra credit regardless of whether they completed the survey or not, or if they do not reach that minimum, no one receives extra credit, including those who did complete the survey.
-
Rewarding course evaluation submissions on a student-by-student basis is not permitted.
-
ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ does not permit instructors to request proof of submission from students.
-
Student confidentiality for course evaluations is taken very seriously, and requesting proof of submission negates survey anonymity.
-
Instructors cannot request proof of submission in order to award incentives.
