Building access during winter break

All ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ buildings will be locked during the winter hard closure Dec. 25 through Jan. 4. Requests for new card access and unlock service by the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Police Department will also be unavailable during this time period. Students or employees who need access to buildings during the break should do the following:

  • If you already have card and/or key access to a building or office, you don’t need to do anything. You will still be able to access those spaces during the break.
  • If you don’t already have card or key access to a building or office:
    • Contact the person who approves key and card access for your department, also known as the access-approving authority.
    • Provide your UA ID number and the spaces you need access to. 

Access-approving authorities will then submit that information via email to uaf-fs-keyshop@alaska.edu and uaf-security-configs@alaska.edu.

Normal building unlock schedules will resume on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026.
