Fact check: ANLC is not closing

A guest opinion in the Anchorage Daily News late last week prompted posts on social
media saying that ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ was planning to close the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Native Language Center. Both
the guest's opinion and the social media posts were incorrect.
ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ is not planning to eliminate the ANLC, nor is it planning to eliminate ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ
Native language instruction or programs. The Anchorage Daily News has since added
a correction to the guest opinion.

committed to teaching, preserving and studying ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Native languages and is not
planning to reduce the ANLC budget in FY27.
