ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ School of Education students receive CARTA scholarship

The Central ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Retired Teachers Association selected two University of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Fairbanks School of Education students as recipients of the prestigious Marie Paxon Educator Scholarship. Stefanida Martushev of Homer, ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ, and Trevor Guernsey of Sterling, ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ, will each receive $2,500 for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Founded more than 50 years ago, CARTA supports ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ’s education community by advocating for education legislation and providing meaningful assistance to pre-service teachers in Southcentral ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ.
