Welcome to #NanookNation!
New Student Orientation — Fall 2026
If you're a new student taking in-person classes in the Fairbanks area, you're required to attend orientation. It's ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ's responsibility to set you up for success!
We've planned several days full of activities to help you connect with other ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ students, discover resources and learn to navigate your new ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ home.
Fees: The cost of participating in New Student Orientation is included in your student matriculation fee.
Summer Orientations — 2026
Ready for an ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñn side quest? Each summer orientation event is two days of fun in the 24-hour sun, and an opportunity to get to know Fairbanks and some of your fellow future Nanooks. These optional orientation experiences are a great way to start your ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ adventure early.
Celebrate the midnight sun during the Fairbanks Summer Solstice.
Experience the Golden Heart of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ at Fairbanks’ Golden Days Festival.
Fees: A $49 event fee will cover your meals and your overnight stay in a ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ residence hall.
New Student Orientation — Spring 2027
ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ offers New Student Orientation in both the fall and the spring!
More information on registering for spring orientation will be available closer to the spring semester.
Online Orientation
You're required to complete Online Orientation before you start classes at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ. We’re so excited for you to join Nanook Nation, and getting your Online Orientation done as soon as you can will help set you up for success this year.
This orientation only takes about an hour — go at your own pace and take breaks if you need to. Become familiar with ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ, our campus and all the opportunities waiting for you here!
Live on Campus
ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ is invested in your success as a student. Experience and research conclusively shows that living on campus — especially during your first year in college — leads to academic success and greater connection to the campus community.
You are required to live on campus if you're an incoming first-year undergraduate student attending the Troth Yeddha' Campus in Fairbanks, enrolled in 9 credits or more, and under the age of 21. Exceptions are approved in some circumstances.
