Climate Scholars Program Orientation

August 18-20, 2026

The Climate Scholars Program Orientation is a three-day experience designed to welcome students into the program and introduce them to climate-focused learning in ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ.

This orientation includes a mix of on-campus activities and tours, as well as an overnight trip to Denali National Park, where students can participate in excursions led by our incredible Climate Faculty Fellows.

By the end of orientation, students will have a strong foundation int he program’s interdisciplinary approach to climate, and a shared sense of community that carries into the academic year.

HONR 101: Introduction to the Honors College

HONR 101 is a 1-credit, extended orientation course required for all incoming Honors Scholars. This course provides an introduction to the Honors College experience, and helps students build a strong foundation for their time in the program.

Through weekly sessions, students explore what it means to be an Honors Scholar, and how to fully access the Honors College resources and benefits.

Students will also connect with peers, faculty, and advisors while learning how to navigate Honors requirements and make the most of the opportunities available to them.

All incoming students should work with their academic advisor to register for HONR 101.
