As we near the end of celebrating Pride month at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ, we would like to highlight a scholarship that supports LGBTQ2IA+ students and allies from the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ community. In 2011, a group of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ alumni and friends established the LGBT Friends and Allies Scholarship. This ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ scholarship is the only one of its kind in the University of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ system.

Pride Month Moment: Stonewall Uprising

As we move through Pride Month, it is important to explore the history and struggles and honor the strength of the queer community. On June 28, 1969, the New York Police Department raided the Stonewall Inn, a New York City gay bar. The patrons of Stonewall Inn fought back, catalyzing the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. The next year, marches in multiple cities commemorated the Stonewall Uprising.
