Pollock Conservation Cooperative Research Center

PCCRC logoPCCRC was established in February 2000 to improve knowledge about the North Pacific Ocean and Bering Sea through research and education, focusing on the commercial fisheries of the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands.

The Center provides:

  • Faculty grants and graduate student stipends, which support research on pollock, other
    groundfish species, the fisheries for those species, and marine mammals
  • Funding for marine education, technical training, and equipment
  • Funding for research in the area of marine resource economics

Through 2024, PCCRC had put $17.3 million into marine research and education at the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences. The center is the largest single private contributor to marine research at the University of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ.
